F

ounded in 1929, the historic Basil Paterson College stands proudly at 66 Queen Street in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town and is known as a respected educational institution throughout all of Scotland.

When Basil Paterson founded the college he believed that learning should be more personally tailored and should keep the learner at the heart of it. These views still play a big part in forming the college’s ethos and approach today.

During the college’s history it has served pupils from the local community, as well as those who travel from Europe and beyond.

Today, the college includes the Middle School for National 4’s and 5’s, the Tutorial College for Highers, Advanced Highers and A-Levels, the Edinburgh School of English for English language courses, the Exam Test Centre for those who need to sit the English IELTS test or Cambridge English examinations and the Teacher Training Faculty for the training of CELTA teachers.
